Does the Who Framed Roger Rabbit video game deserve the reputation as one of the worst games in history or is it actually not that bad? One reviewer has taken a closer look at it and see if the hate is warranted.

Happy 28th Birthday Roger!

Yes, today is, in fact, the 28th anniversary of the release of Roger Rabbit! Of course we all know that it turned into a huge hit, and a minor problem caused the character to barely get used since. But we're here today to watch a few trailers for the film, and maybe a few ads too!

Cinema Sins did a video on Roger

Cinema Sins is a channel on Youtube that talks about flaws in movies. Usually they talk about both new releases and older films, and they recently did Roger Rabbit.

We do realize that taste is subjective, so we will admit that the film does have a few flaws. So enjoy, and don't take it hard!

A neat reference in the comic strip Mother Goose and Grimm just came to my attention. 

New Roger Rabbit show at Disneyland

It's been a while since Roger appeared at the park and he recently made a comeback during "AP days" where he did a little dance number and met and greeted guests. And even had a backdrop based on "Something's Cookin'". Watch the video below and head over to Inside the magic for more info and pictures from the event.

Rest in peace Joe Alaskey

Voiceactor Joe Alaskey has sadly passed away. Fans here might remember him for his role as Yosemite Sam in the scene where Eddie visits the Acme factory. Sam's regular voiceactor; Mel Blanc was unable to do it due to his age so Alaskey took over. He would later go on to voice more Looney Tunes characters in other films and series.
Cause of death was cancer. He was 63 years old. Thanks to Screenrant for the info.

A Toontastic birthday card!

Daniel here. In my first post, I had mentioned that I went to Disney World in 2007 and had seen the former location of Mickey's Toontown Fair in the process. What I didn't mention, however, was that I got something at a character meet and greet restaurant for my birthday! A card with Roger on it!

Of course, the card features Roger with Mickey Mouse and the EPCOT character of Figment (Who I also love a lot, and I think deserves more interest.)

This was obviously created when Roger was still the focus of Disney MGM Studios, and was still in use in 2007, so I have no idea if they still use it to this very day.

A Toontown game?!

Back in 2003, Disney opened the doors to Toontown in an online way.... a video game. Now, making a game based off of Roger Rabbit material is nothing new, and it had to be better than half the games out there (cough NES cough), but what was different was that Roger and the other characters were not used. Understandable, since Gary K. Wolf and Speilberg were not happy with Disney at the time, but I digress.

Toontown was an online game where you could create your own Toon and race gokarts, golf, earn money in the form of jellybeans and more. However, there is a bad guy in the form of the evil robot Cogs, who want to turn Toontown's happy, carefree life into a business place ( *cough Eisner cough*)

What's even stranger is that when Disney closed down, fans made their own servers. I would suggest playing on Toontown Rewritten for starters.

A bit of Toony piano genius

Recently, while scrolling through youtube, I found this man doing ragtime versions of Disney songs. What I had not seen, until today, was his interpretation of the Maroon Cartoons theme.

You can own the very first Roger Rabbit doll ever made! (Sort of)

If you've been around for a while, maybe you remember a particular post about the origins of the rabbit plush portraying Roger Rabbit in the original cover of "Who Censored Roger Rabbit" (the one with Gary K. Wolf portraying Eddie Valiant), which was commissioned by Gary Wolf himself to a japanese company named Kamar.

It seems that, luckily for us, that rabbit wasn't the only one made from those patterns.

If you go to this eBay link, you can find a facsimile of the first Roger Rabbit plush ever made from the same company that made the original one. It's logical to think Kamar got some extra mileage from these original patterns and sold the rabbit in mass quantities, so why don't you give it a look? Maybe you can give him a new home and get some part of Roger Rabbit's history ;)

Lego Roger Rabbit needs your help!

I was told The Roger Rabbit Lego project was in need of some support, so I figured I could inform you all about the project and see if that helps.

Roger Rabbit's video game wasn't very impressive, but is the board game any better? Not that much according to Boingboing.net. But fans of the film might wanna check it out anyway.

More early Roger Rabbit stuff surfaces

The Thief Archive has posted a new video that features footage of early animation tests and concept art of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This new old stuff comes from a old episode of a Disney Channel show called Disney Studio Showcase. The host takes us backstage of the production and shows us a lot of interesting things that got dropped later on. Among other things, this early version features a evil Jessica and a grumpy toon detective named Lt Cleaver.

Now, we usually talk about Roger. But I had an idea. We don't really talk much about Jessica, Benny the Cab, Judge Doom or the Weasels. So I decided to post about the merchandise for the characters that don't get much talk.

For starters, let's talk about The Weasels.

Ya know, even though they died in the movie, they seem to have more merch than Judge Doom.

With other characters, however, it was harder. Baby Herman for one. Maybe it's the thing with a young looking character that swore and smoked cigars wasn't good for kids to have stuff with. But, he did eventually get a bean bag plush.

But Judge Doom only got 2 things (to my knowledge.) A pin, and an action figure. Not counting the Funko figure, since it's not out yet (I don't think)

Of course, Benny got a ton. He seemed to be the only one besides Roger and Jessica to be liked a lot. Especially with the fact that they could easily make him.

Of course, I won't be talking about Jessica. There's a whole blog for that at one of our friends, I'm not badTV.
