WFRR 2 is again dead: NOT THIS S**T AGAIN

ImNotBad.com tipped me about Zemeckis finally giving a full explanation of his cryptic answer at the UK premiere of his latest movie, “Flight”, in which he confirms “Roger Rabbit 2” is shelved.

Yes, again. Like, ever.

Full info on Bleeding Cool’s article about this matter.

P.S. The only thing I can think now are curse words, so I apologize for the short entry. Hope this pic can express how dissapointed I am:

Sorry Alex and Ayaka-imouto-chan.

Sadly this is true, and I'm still very frustrated about it. I've always said "don't worry, I'm used to it", but actually I was lying: I'm not used to it. I had hopes. And still have hopes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zemeckis turns out to be cryptic yet again in an attempt to get people to stop pestering him about the project. :p

Of course, there's always a possibility that the sequel could get made without Zemeckis (Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey could be going ahead without him).

But if regime changes at Disney are really what's keeping them from greenlighting Roger 2 at this time, let's hope that no more regime changes will occur after the current one.

Then again, Zemeckis saying that the sequel won't get made is probably nothing more than his own personal opinion.

Here is one reason for Disney not rushing to make the sequel - the characters are still half owned by Steven Spielberg. So no matter how much money the movie makes, half is probably his and half is Disney's. That also means Disney cannot fully merchandise the movie and get ALL the benefits because half of the money would go to him automatically too. Both companies have to agree on what gets made to begin with, which is what holds up merchandising now. I wonder if this has played any factor into their decision. Why Disney doesn't buy out Steven Spielberg's half of the rights I don't know. They spent 2 billion and 4 billion to buy Marvel and Lucasfilm!

I agree. I think Disney should consider buying Amblin Entertainment.

Somebody needs to inquire about this at the next Disney shareholder meeting!

On the same token, however, the copyright issues don't seem to be as big an issue as they used to be, since Eisner isn't with the company and Bob Iger and the current guard at Disney are more than happy to work with others than Eisner the ego-maniac ever was.

I'll believe when I see it, but here's a brand-new interesting bit of news:
